A few words about snorkeling/scuba equipment; Selling equipment is one of the ways we are able to continue to teach scuba classes. With over 40 years of experience teaching, selling, and servicing equipment, we feel we have found some of the best quality and serviceable equipment. We have seen companies come and go. When we choose a brand of equipment to sell, we look at engineering, quality, warranty, and the financial side of the company. We choose gear that is engineered for safety and function. We don't sell regulators with an antiquated design from the 1960s. Ultimately it is a question of, “would I let my family member use this?” Not the question, “can I make money selling this?” Unfortunately some large scuba manufactures continue to use the same 1960s technology disguised in an updated cosmetics with a fancy package.
Service & Warranty: Scuba equipment requires annual services as you know. Most mail order sources do not service what they sell. If they do, you will have shipping charges from $25 to $50 each time. If you purchase gear off of ebay you have no guarantee of serviceability. If you don't return the item within the return period, you are on your own. We periodically sell on ebay, we use it to sell vintage or unique equipment to a larger market for collectors. We also sell brands of equipment that we have gotten from trade-ins that we cannot provide warranty service. Warranty issues will cost you time and shipping charges. When you purchase equipment from us we make it our priority to have it warrantied, usually no questions asked. In addition to the manufactured warranty, we offer an in house service warranty. All new equipment comes with a 2 year service warranty. From tune-ups to complete overhauls! We also offer a 1 year service warranty on all used equipment we sell. We know of no other dealer that offers this. Some places sell equipment that is considered “grey goods,” these places are not authorized dealers, they are not required to honor any of their warranties.
Pricing & Value: everyone wants the best deal they can find, us included. We try to price our gear as competitively as possible. Most manufacturers require that a dealer only advertises at MAP (minimum advertised price) pricing. If you find something that is priced below this MAP price is usually grey goods, meaning no warranty, and/or unauthorised seller. We service what we sell. We stock parts so there is a fast turn around for what we sell. We offer priority to equipment that was purchased from us and we are able to offer better pricing on services and parts for the gear that was purchased from us.

Scubapro’s engineering: In 1963 Scubapro released the MK2, also known as the most dependable first stage in the world. The design is such a success that it is still in production today. The MK5 was introduced in 1965, it is the first air-balanced flow-through piston regulator on the market, offering 25% higher performance than any other first stage of the time. The first alternate inflator regulator and integrated BC inflator with a second stage was Scubapro’s Air2. Introduced in 1979, the Air2 is currently in it’s fifth generation and is still widely used today. I could keep on going... Scubapro has played a major role in the development of sport diving for over 50 years by providing divers with quality gear that makes diving safer and more fun.
They are great to work with, make high quality equipment and test everything they sell, making sure it is safe and works. A high tech product requires a long and painstaking process of design and testing before it can be manufactured and used by scuba divers. Each Scubapro regulator prototype is engineered and assembled in the company's R&D laboratory and then put through intensive testing. The first phase utilizes a sophisticated ANSTI breathing machine to monitor performance when subjected to a series of simulated diving conditions. From there the prototype undergoes pool, and ocean testing by a team of expert test divers. They expose the prototype to all conditions ranging from tropical, to ice diving in locations all over the world. While this open water testing is being conducted all mechanical components undergo long cycles of stress testing to identify problems that may arise as a result of heavy use. Scubapro regulators meet and exceed all industry certifications. All Scubapro’s regulators have earned a CE certification issued by RINA, a CE certification issued by RINA indicates that the product or service meets the requirements of relevant European Union (EU) directives and regulations. They access and certify products for CE marking ensuring they comply with safety, health, and environmental standards within the EU. Their BC’s and dive computers go through a similar testing process. Their testing is conducted in Italy at Scubapro’s main research and development center (R&D). Their BC tests stress the welding and stitching, check long-term inflation and deflation reliability, as well as the long-term durability of all materials and hardware. Their dive computers are conducted at the UWatec R&D laboratory in Switzerland, and then put through intensive testing to determine the reliability and long-term durability of all internal electronic components as well as the ruggedness and watertightness of the casings, display screens, buttons and other external hardware. They use precise simulation and pressure chambers and electrostatic discharge testing. Dive computers are also subjected to extensive dive testing. Hours and hours are logged, testing and retesting all systems by an international team of test divers. This exhaustive test regimen is part of the internal validation process that’s mandatory for every Scubapro product.
